Study
Dear friends and family,
Amidst all else that is joyful, encouraging and demanding in parish life I continue to delight and wrestle with doctoral research. It's an important and sustaining question about church health. This project began in late Autumn 2017, and two years later I started to write and put together some of my thinking on some bits of paper! Much quantitative data was gathered in Autumn 2019 and detailed qualitative interviews followed in Spring 2020. My project is a depth study into the character of health in the local church, in dialogue with leaders who self-describe as charismatic evangelical clergy. The opportunity to undertake this study continues to energise me around the margins of my life. I remain ever committed to serving as a local church leader with a growing specialism believing that this project has longer-term use in God’s kingdom purposes.
So here's where I would value your prayers and possible help. The remaining costs of my doctoral research project are £7,800, beyond personal savings and some initial gifts at the outset from family and friends in 2017-2018. There js an annual gift from a trust and potential diocesan CPD support totalling £800, so potentially about £7k remains. This reflects fees, supervision costs, submission and admin fees. I would welcome your possible help and-or signposting me to any individuals or trusts that you believe may be able to assist.
